We have no work today, so there are no calls to deter us from starting the day. Having done it once this way, I don’t think I would want to do a working vacation week again. I really had no choice in the matter but I will be talking to my boss about this when I get back. It’s just not ideal to work 28 hours on your vacation.
We are out the door before 9:00 which is the earliest we have left all week.
D has put together a mix of Bella Vista, Blowing Springs, and the Back 40/Ledges today. This is a culmination of many sources plus her own research.
The hub of this system is an RV, which is certainly unique. Several trails spill out from here and we do a few runs from this, which are fun.
The Mad Hatter is closed, sadly. We finish up this side and head over to the other, hitting Bomb Diggety which is a solid addition to the day.
We hop on the Back 40 and make our way up to the Ledges.
We eat lunch before we hit this nearly 3 mile generally downhill run.
On the way we see an owl. This may be the first owl I have ever seen in real life in the wild.
Towards the end of the loop back to the start, we find some trail magic in the form of a cooler and some neat woods artwork. I took the opportunity to have a drink.
At the end, this is a great loop. It has some standard XC but it also has a lot of destination stuff. Really good loop D put together here.

We drop off Alex & Mark in town then head over to Handcut Hollow for the last ride of the trip here. It’s a small set of trails that can be sessioned from the same spot.
In all we do 5 of the 7 runs and then run out of steam. It’s a fun little spot and a great way to tie it all together.

We pick up Alex & Mark, head home to shower, then head back to town to have dinner at the Tusk & Trotter.
We have a great dinner together, being able to just enjoy our food and talk a bunch.
We then go home to pack up, getting ready to wake up and hit the road tomorrow for the conclusion of our trip.
