Lancaster Volleyball 1: Coffee & the Market

Another weekend, another volleyball tournament. Last week was a 1-day in Long Island. This week is a 3-day in Lancaster, PA. After a brief stop last night at my mom’s for dinner, we made it to the hotel by 9:00 with little time left in the day. Zac went out with his friends for a few hours.

Morning comes and I am off to Passenger Coffee, which I had been to 2 years ago when we were here for a basketball tournament at the same venue. I remember it was god. But this was better than I even recall. They do an aeropress, not pour-over. But it was a great cup to start the day.

Head back to the hotel for a bit, then D and I head out to find breakfast at the Lancaster Central Market, which is a massive sort-of-farmer’s market but also Amish market but not totally. Mix it all up and it has a bunch of stuff to buy, some of which we do. It’s a tasty meal to start the day.

Then we went back to get more coffee which is adjacent to the market. This was much lighter.

Back to the hotel for a bit of nothing for a few hours. Around 2:00 we went out for lunch and found a place called Shot and Bottle, which was passable. We tried for ramen but the place closed at 2:00 which is hard for people from NJ to understand. How can a place close in the middle of the day?

I got the cauliflower steak. It was pretty decent.

Then we went back to the hotel and I took a nap. It was glorious. And then we made it to the volleyball tournament.

They lost the first game by a lot.
Then won the second by a lot.
Then lost the third by a little.

Wrapped up and drove back to the hotel. Zac took off with his friends and we ate at the hotel restaurant, The Imperial. It was also decent.

Back to the room and we smashed into the pecan pie that we bought at the market earlier today.

And that is all. Day 1 of 3 complete.
