Banff 24-2: Sunshine Village

I sleep ok, not great. I wake up and have a coffee, which is fine. Since we’re a little at altitude the water boils at a lower temp and therefor doesn’t get as hot, nor taste as good.

We are heading to Sunshine Village today. New ski hill, new ski province, new ski everything. There are 3 resorts up here we can hit, but more than likely we will stick to just the big 2, Sunshine & Louise.

We ski from 10-3, which is more or less the usual. Snow is good, visibility is less good. The mountain is mostly easy to navigate, other than the inability to see much. Plenty of different terrain to explore, but not too much in terms of trees and fun stuff like that. They’ve gotten snow but not a lot recently so it’s all just packed powder. No ice to speak of.

Poutine is had. It’s a good day.

The Strava link can be found here.

We have a parking ticket/warning on the car. Apparently you need a pass to park anywhere in this area, as it is all in a national park. So we head into Banff and stop at the office to pay it, then head over to town to walk around and explore.

We go to Whitebark Cafe to start. We grab coffee drinks and a few snack there.

Walk around town, do some shopping, buy stickers and magnets and such.

Back to condo, go to hot tub for a bit.

Dinner is chicken on lettuce.
