Asheville ’22-2: DuPont #1

I start the day by fixing D’s rear derailleur. It’s remarkable how easy bike work is when you a) have the right parts and b) have the right tools. It took me about 20 minutes and worked just perfectly fine for the rest of the trip. So we’re all set on that front.

The plan on the day is to ride in the afternoon then spend the evening with Terren & Cheryl and the family. This is a great way to split our time, as they have family stuff and we like to ride. So it works out very well in that regard.

We hit Green Sage for breakfast, which was pretty good. I had been there before with Julia the year before. It got the job done.

We rode DuPont with Dave who used to live in New Jersey. It’s a big park that’s super popular down in these parts. We follow him around. He likes gravel so there are more gravel roads than I would choose. But he tries to hit all the key points. The ride is good and we get to see some destination waterfalls.

After we ride, we head back to the house and shower up, then hang out with Terren & Cheryl and the crew for the rest of the afternoon.

They make kimchee fried rice for dinner. It was yummy.

We walk over to the ice cream shop from the house with everyone.
